This is a comprehensive flag football qualification, which provides knowledge of coaching and enables the holder to lead or assist the coaching of flag football for all ages in a formal capacity. It is recommended that newly qualified coaches should work under the supervision of an experienced coach for a minimum of 6 weeks.

Individuals who usually undertake this course are players or ex-players, coaches or ex-coaches, interested adults, teachers, youth workers, students etc. You do not need prior experience in flag football but experience in some capacity is recommended.
This course is ideal for learners who are seeking to coach in a professional manner and for those seeking to develop as coaches in a fairly new code of the sport of American Football.
Learners must:
Be at least 18 years of age (NB. 14- to 17-year-olds can take the Flag Futures sports activator course and must work under the supervision of a competent adult).
Be able to communicate effectively.
Make any special learning requirements known at the registration process if they require any assistance.
Complete the following prerequisites for the course:

It is advised, though not compulsory, that learners also take the following course: Flag Training USA Football – Health and Safety
To achieve the British American Football Flag Coaching award, learners are required to have:
Completed all prerequisites for the course
Completed all online tasks
Completed the online test associated with the content covered on course
The course is completely online and can be completed at the learner’s own pace as long as the course is completed within one calendar year of registration. The course consists of:

This course can lead to further learning, CPD or training in the area of coaching American Football and/or the progression onto the British American Football Flag Coaching Level 2 qualification.
