This is a comprehensive flag football officiating qualification, which provides knowledge of officiating and enables the holder to lead or assist the officiating of flag football games in a formal capacity. It is recommended that newly qualified officials should work under the supervision of an experienced official for a minimum of 8 full games.

Individuals who usually attend this course are players or ex-players, coaches or ex-coaches, interested adults, teachers, youth workers, students etc. You do not need prior experience in flag football but experience in some capacity is recommended.
This course is ideal for learners who are seeking to officiate in a professional manner and for those seeking to develop into potentially paid officiating roles.
Learners must:
Be at least 16 years of age (NB. 16- and 17-year-olds must work under the supervision of an ideally experienced official aged 18 or over)
Be able to communicate effectively
Make any special learning requirements known at the registration process if they require any assistance

To achieve the British American Football Flag Officiating award, learners are required to have:
Completed all prerequisites for the course
Completed all online tasks
Completed the online test associated with the content covered on course and the rulebook

This course can lead to further learning, CPD or training in the area of officiating American Football and/or the progression onto the British American Football Contact Officiating qualifications.
